Redshirt freshman netminder posted pair of shutouts
Redshirt freshman Mikki Easter of the Marquette University women's soccer team has been named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Easter helped Marquette post back-to-back shutouts in a pair of 1-0 wins over Creighton and Seton Hall. Through games of Oct. 3, Easter ranks first in the league in save percentage (.848), second in goals-against-average (0.54) and third in shutouts (5).
BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Katie Soderstrom, Butler, R-Jr., M
Soderstrom totaled four points in a 1-0-1 week for the Bulldogs. The redshirt-junior scored the game-tying goal in the 62nd minute at St. John's on Thursday to secure the 1-1 draw. She followed that with two assists in a 3-0 win over UConn on Sunday, providing the helper on Becky Dean's 27th-minute game winner before adding another dish on Julia Leonard's 75th-minute insurance score. Soderstrom has 24 points on the year to rank ninth nationally.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Hayley Jakovich, Xavier, Sr., D
Jackovich anchored a Xavier defense which notched back-to-back shutout wins in BIG EAST play last week. The senior helped the Musketeers outshoot Villanova and Creighton by a 40-9 margin, including 18-3 on goal. Jackovich also scored the game-winning goal against the Bluejays on Sunday, scoring her first goal of the season less than five minutes into the contest.

Doyle totaled three points in an unbeaten (1-0-1) week for the 23rd-ranked Hoyas. She scored the game-winning goal against DePaul on Thursday, tallying her third goal of the season just 61 seconds into the contest. She followed that with an assist on Julia Leas' goal against Providence, giving Georgetown a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute before eventually earning the draw.
