
MSOC Announces Addition of Grad Transfer Ben Barkley

Forward/Midfielder will join MU as graduate transfer from Tulsa
MILWAUKEE — Marquette men's soccer head coach Louis Bennett announced the addition of graduate transfer Ben Barkley Monday afternoon.
Barkley joins the Golden Eagles as a sixth-year forward/midfielder who spent the past four seasons at Tulsa. A starter last year for one of the nation's top-ranked programs, Barkley ranked third among Tulsa players in 2021 with 13 points (3 goals, 7 assists). The Tulsa, Oklahoma native will be eligible to play immediately.

Prior to Marquette:Â Spent the past four seasons at Tulsa after beginning his collegiate career at Saint Louis... While starting 15 games for the Golden Hurricanes in 2021, helped the team to a No. 2 ranking in the final regular season United Soccer Coaches poll and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament... Ranked third on the squad with 12 points, totaling three goals and a team-high seven assists... Took 26 shots, tied for second-most on the team... Started in six of 12 games in 2020-21, ranking second on the team in goals (2) and points (6)... Played in 10 games as a junior in 2019 after not making any appearances as a sophomore... At Saint Louis in 2017, appeared in five games and had two shot attempts... Was named a Top Drawer Soccer second team All-American as a senior at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Â
