Men's lacrosse announces 2022 schedule

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's lacrosse team has released its 2022 schedule, which includes 14 regular season games and features eight at Valley Fields in Milwaukee.

"This year's out-of-conference schedule provides a tremendous opportunity against a number of NCAA tournament teams from a year ago," MU head coach Andrew Stimmel said. "That challenge will prepare us to play in what will be one of the toughest conferences in the country in 2022. We are looking forward to the journey and cannot wait to get back to work in January."

The Golden Eagles begin their regular season with a pair of games on the road at Bellarmine on Feb. 12 and Jacksonville on Feb. 19.

MU returns home for a meeting with Utah on Feb. 26 to open up a four-game homestand that brings Michigan to Valley Fields on March 1, Detroit Mercy on March 5 and Drexel on March 12.

Marquette then travels to Moon Township, Pennsylvania, to face Robert Morris on March 19 before closing the month of April with a home matchup against Air Force on March 26. It will be the third all-time meeting between the Golden Eagles and Falcons, with MU coming off back-to-back wins.

Conference play begins in April, as Marquette hosts Providence on April 2 before facing St. John's on the road on April 9. MU's annual midweek meeting with Notre Dame will be at home on April 12 and MU will take on Georgetown just four days later on April 16 in Washington D.C.

The Golden Eagles return home to host Villanova on April 23 before concluding their regular season on Friday, April 29 in Denver against the Pioneers.

The BIG EAST Conference semifinals are slated for May 5 and the BIG EAST Championship is May 7.

Marquette will officially get its season underway with the Blue & Gold Scrimmage on Saturday, Jan. 22, followed by a scrimmage with Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, on Jan. 29.
