WTEN Concludes Weekend With 5-2 Loss At DePaul

Marquette splits pair of road matches
The Marquette University women's tennis team (3-3) wrapped up its weekend road swing with a 5-2 loss at DePaul (4-1) Sunday night.
The Blue Demons opened the match by claiming the doubles point, earning at narrow 7-5 win at the No. 3 spot to secure the 1-0 lead. Marquette's duo of Natalija Popovic and Elisabeth Desmarais picked up a 6-4 win at No. 2.
Unfortunately for MU, DePaul would collect four singles victories to secure the team victory, with only Andie Weise (No. 3) and Tiana Windbuchler (No. 6) claiming wins for Marquette. Weise earned the win after her opponent retired, while Windbuchler posted a 6-2, 6-3 decision.
The Golden Eagles, who defeated North Dakota 6-1 on Saturday, return to action on Saturday, Feb. 28 when the team hosts Northern Illinois at 6 p.m. CT.
