MILWAUKEE – The No. 25 Marquette University women's volleyball team heads to No. 19 Creighton for a pair of non-conference matches on Friday and Saturday night at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.
Both matches are set to begin at 7 p.m. Central time inside the Wayne and Eileen Ryan Athletic Center and will air live on the Creighton Athletics YouTube channel. Live statistics will also be available.
Each team sports a 3-1 record entering play following two Marquette wins last weekend over Northern Iowa and Drake, while Creighton split a pair of five-set matches against South Dakota.
The Golden Eagles took down UNI in four sets on Saturday evening and swept Drake in a Sunday afternoon matchup. Senior outside hitter Hope Werch was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her play in Cedar Falls, Iowa where she averaged 3.14 kills and 2.43 digs per set. The Neenah, Wisconsin native hit .333 with 10 kills in Sunday's win and had a double-double of 12 kills and 11 digs on Saturday night.

Seventh-year head coach Ryan Theis leads Marquette into the weekend after picking up his 150th victory in Marquette in Sunday's win over Drake. He is among the NCAA's active leaders in winning percentage and is six wins from 300 in his head coaching career.
Creighton is led by preseason All-BIG EAST selections Jaela Zimmerman and Keeley Davis and Zimmerman is the reigning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. The junior is averaging 3.50 kills per frame and hitting .252 through 16 sets. She also leads the squad with 4.16 points per set.
The Bluejays, who have one six-straight BIG EAST regular season crowns, are led by 18th-year head coach Kirsten Berthal Booth. She is assisted by former Marquette assistant coach Craig Dyer (2009-12), Angie Osley Behrens and volunteer Justin Dueck.
Creighton has won each of the last seven matches against Marquette and holds a 19-4 advantage in the all-time series, which began in October 1980. Prior to CU joining the BIG EAST for the 2013 season, the two squads met in the 2012 NCAA First Round, a Creighton sweep in Minneapolis.
Both of this weekend's matches are non-conference affairs with league play starting for Marquette on Friday, Feb. 12 against DePaul in Milwaukee. Creighton comes to Marquette on Feb. 19-20 for a pair of matches at the Al McGuire Center.
