Golden Eagles return to action next weekend at Notre Dame
The Marquette University women's tennis team (2-1) picked up its second-straight win of the season with a 6-1 victory over Milwaukee (1-1) Saturday afternoon at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by claiming the valuable doubles point in exciting fashion. After posting a quick 6-3 win at No. 3, the remaining two matches would come down to a tiebreaker. Fortunately for MU, the team claimed both decisions and the duo of Lara Kaiser and Emilija Kojcic clinched the point with a 7-6 win at No. 2.
Elizabeth Ferdman pushed MU ahead 2-0 with a straight-set win at No. 5 singles and Marquette never trailed. Also claiming singles wins were Andie Weise, Kojcic and Tiana Windbuchler.
Marquette returns to the court on Saturday, Feb. 13 when the team travels to Notre Dame.
