The Golden Eagles face Butler again on Saturday at 3 p.m.

INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 24 Marquette University women's volleyball team fell in five sets to Butler, 25-18, 15-25, 17-25, 25-18, 15-7, on Friday evening at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
The Golden Eagles (8-3, 3-2 BIG EAST) claimed wins in the second and third sets, but could not close out the match, hitting a combined -.013 (13-14-78) in the final two frames. Savannah Rennie had 12 kills, seven blocks and hit .267 to lead Marquette, which hit .089 as a team.
The win over Marquette was the first for the Bulldogs (4-5, 1-2 BIG EAST) since 2017 and the first set win was BU's first frame victory in 14 tries.
Brittany Robinson posted 17 kills to lead all players and Butler hit .117 (45-25-171) as a team.
The Golden Eagles resume action at Hinkle Fieldhouse against Butler on Saturday at 3 p.m. Central time.
