Junior earns award for second time in 2021
Marquette men's tennis player Fran San Andres has been named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, his second accolade of the season.

Fran San Andres, Marquette, RS-So. (Madrid, Spain)
Marquette redshirt sophomore Fran San Andres helped the Golden Eagles defeat Creighton, 4-3 as he went unbeaten at No. 1 singles last weekend. San Andres won his match 6-2, 6-3. San Andres is now 9-1 in dual action overall, including a 4-1 mark at No. 1.

Leonie Hoppe, UConn, Fr. (Munich, Germany)
Leonie Hoppe won two singles and two doubles matches as the Huskies got matching 5-2 wins over Seton Hall and Fairfield last week. Against the Stags, Hoppe went 6-2. 6-3 in her singles match then won her doubles match 7-6. Against Seton Hall, Hoppe again played No. 2 singles, this time winning 6-3, 6-1. At the top doubles flight she won 6-2. Hoppe improved her average to 4-4 at No. 2 singles on the year.

Notable Performances:
- Butler's Natalie Boesing went 2-0 in singles, which included the only point against Cincinnati at No. 1 singles. She won in straight sets against her competition from Eastern Michigan and Cincinnati.
- Bulldog Alvaro Huete Vadillo went 2-1 in singles over the weekend and helped Butler pick up a 6-1 win over St. Louis on Sunday. Against DePaul, Vadillo defeated Fran Tonejc, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 and 14-12.
- Xavier's Anna Roggenburk went 3-1 this past weekend. She was unbeaten in singles play winning in straight sets against Davidson and Gardner-Webb. In doubles action, she and her teammate Imani Graham lost 6-4 against Davidson but defeated Gardner-Webb's opponent 6-2. Her singles win against Gardner-Webb was her 10th singles win for the season.
