MILWAUKEE – Marquette University redshirt junior Hunter Eichhorn will compete in the Kingston Springs Regional of the 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships on May 17-19 at The Golf Club of Tennessee.
THE EVENT
Clemson, NC State and regional-host Vanderbilt are the top three teams in the regional, which is also hosted by the Nashville Sports Council in Kingston Springs, Tennessee, and contains 2021 BIG EAST Champion UConn.
MARQUETTE'S LINEUP
INDIVIDUAL: Hunter Eichhorn
Eichhorn, making his third appearance in an NCAA regional, is the sixth-seeded individual in the region after earning an at-large berth. Eichhorn earned co-medalist honors at the 2021 BIG EAST Championship and won a conference title as a freshman in 2018 to earn the BIG EAST's automatic individual NCAA berth. He also competed with the rest of his Marquette teammates in the NCAA Austin Regional in 2019.
The 2021 BIG EAST Men's Golf Player of the Year is the program's first at-large selection to NCAA regional play since former teammate Matt Murlick in 2018. He also joins M Club Hall of Famer Mike Van Sickle, who earned a pair of at-large bids to regionals - he was selected in 2007 and 2009 (he was a No. 1 seeded player that season).Â
This season, Eichhorn has led Marquette at its last five events with a trio of top-five finishes and 11 rounds of par-or-better. His BIG EAST crown was his second conference medalist honor and fifth tournament win overall.
THE COURSE
In its inaugural year (1991), Golf Digest recognized The Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tennessee as runner-up for the Best New Private Course in America. It is consistently recognized as one of the top two courses in the state of Tennessee, and was recognized by Golf Week as one of America's 100 Best Modern Courses. Also in 2006, Golf Digest Index ranked The Golf Club of Tennessee as one of America's 50 Greatest Golf Retreats. Â The Golf Club of Tennessee has hosted numerous local, state, national amateur and pro-am events, while always providing enjoyable rounds of golf for members and their guests.

The Golf Club of Tennessee is home to many national tournaments such as The Vinny Pro-Celebrity-Am, and The DICK'S Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup, and the 2018 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship.
