MILWAUKEE -Â The Marquette University women's volleyball team beat the Wright State Raiders Friday night at the Al McGuire Center in three sets (25-16, 25-18, 25-20) in its second match of the Marquette Invitational.
Similar to their match-up earlier today, Marquette had two hitters tally 10 or more kills including Savannah Rennie, who had another game with 10 kills, on .474 hitting. Hope Werch edged out Rennie, tallying 11 kills, on .333 hitting. Werch also tallied 10 digs and accounted for a team-high 12.5 points in the nightcap.
Marquette's Carly Skrabak made her mark on the scoresheet with 15 digs, a personal best in a Marquette uniform. Her previous high was 13 against St. Louis in the spring.Â
Carsen Murray blocked six of the Wright State attacks, combining with Taylor Wolf three times during second set.
Wright State (7-4) was led by Celia Powers who accounted for seven kills and 11 digs. The Golden Eagles hit .280 overall including .349 in the opening set and sided out at 82% in the frame. The Raiders hit .118 in the match, including a mark of -.029 in the second frame.Â
NEXT UP: Marquette (8-2) takes on Northern Iowa on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Al McGuire Center.
