The Golden Eagles will take on Yale and Stony Brook on Long Island
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's lacrosse team will play a pair of fall exhibition games on Sunday, Oct. 17 against Yale and Stony Brook at Ward Melville High School in East Setauket, New York.
The Golden Eagles will face Yale at 10 a.m. Central time before a noon CT matchup with Stony Brook.
"We are excited to compete this fall against two great programs in Yale and Stony Brook," Marquette head coach Andrew Stimmel said. "Gaining game experience against rosters with depth, experience and talent will play a role in preparing us for what's ahead. We are looking forward to that challenge"
The Golden Eagles will take on a familiar opponent for Stimmel, who was offensive coordinator and assistant coach at Yale prior to taking the MU job in 2019. Stimmel helped the Bulldogs to back-to-back NCAA National Championship games in 2018 and 2019, including a national title in 2018.
The Golden Eagles played one of the nation's toughest schedules in 2021 and return USILA All-American Mason Woodward and another pair of All-BIG EAST Conference performers in leading scorer Devon Cowan and defenseman Zach Granger. Marquette's full 2022 spring schedule will be announced later this fall.
