OMAHA, Neb. — The Marquette women's basketball team (9-4, 2-2 BIG EAST) lost to Creighton Friday night at D.J. Sokol Arena, 62-45.
In what was their first game in 16 days, the Golden Eagles came out of the gates strong for a back-and-forth first half with the league-leading Bluejays (9-3, 4-0 BIG EAST). The Bluejays then carried the momentum of a late second quarter 8-0 run into the second half, starting the third quarter on an 11-2 run to open up a 40-25 lead. Despite an even final quarter (12-12) the deficit proved to be too much to overcome for MU.
