Jordan King Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Senior guard helped Marquette to pair of big wins in Battle 4 Atlantis
NEW YORK — Marquette senior guard Jordan King was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday afternoon. During the week, which included games through Sunday, Nov. 20, King helped the Golden Eagles qualify for the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game with a pair of strong individual performances. In MU's highest-ranked win in program history on Saturday against #3 Texas, King went for a career-high 25 points then followed that performance with a career-high tying nine rebounds to go along with 13 points and four assists vs RV Gonzaga on Sunday.
This is the fifth Weekly Honor Roll appearance of King's career, and first of the season. Â
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Azzi Fudd, UConn, So., G
Fudd had back-to-back 32-point outings in wins over two top-10 teams last week. Against No. 3 Texas on Monday night, the sophomore guard dropped a career-best 32 points off 13-of-21 shooting, adding four assists as UConn won 83-76. On Sunday against No. 10 NC State, she matched her career high with 32 points again, making 12-of-24 attempts from the field while adding two steals and two rebounds. For the week she shot .556, including .476 from three. Â

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Fernanda Ovalle, Xavier, Fr., G
Ovalle posted her first career double-double on Saturday afternoon, leading the Musketeers to a 65-49 win over Old Dominion at Cintas Center. The freshman guard had a career-best 14 points off 7-of-8 shooting, while grabbing a career-high 12 rebounds. Ovalle added three assists and two blocks, helping Xavier improve to 4-0 on the year. The Musketeers are 4-0 to open the year for the first time since 2016-17.
