3/21/2022 12:08:00 PM | Men's Soccer
Striker played one season at LSU-Shreveport
Abdoul Karim Pare | Forward | Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire | LSU Shreveport
Prior to Marquette: Played his freshman season at LSU Shreveport, where he helped the Pilots to a 12-7-1 overall record in 2021... Was a member of the Red River Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team... Led the team's offensive efforts with 11 goals scored on 45 shots in 18 contests, to go along with two assists... Netted three game-winners for the Pilots... Attended and played soccer at Hartpury College in England, where his squad won the County Cup in 2020 and was a County Cup Finalist in 2021.
Why he chose MU:Â "Marquette is one of the best college programs in the country. Coming from Right To Dream, James Nortey, who attended Marquette and achieved great things, is a motivation for me."
Coach Bennett: ""I am happy to be able to welcome a player from the Right to Dream program where esteem Marquette Alumni James C Nortey grew-up in the RTD system. Karim, from an early age, has made decisions to try out, travel, and be displaced from his birth country and family driven by ambition and opportunity. From Ivory Coast, to Ghana, to England and now the US. From the age of 11 his journey speaks for itself about his commitment to his sport, education and cultural growth. As a personality he's fun loving happy & optimistic by nature with a very determined edge. He's a player with a skill set and desire to make goals, and he has the commitment, speed and athleticism to move off the ball to create space. He's also suited to press in transition, recover and defend. Knowing we have quality players in his respective positions of wide and central striker, one of the things that impressed me is that he welcomes that kind of competition. Our squad is rapidly becoming very competitive in all positions with quality from within, as well as with new recruits. This has been a pointed goal over the last 24 months of recruiting. With 4 players joining this spring, Karim is one of the remaining pieces of the puzzle needed to move us forward in the fall".Â
