Kaiser cllinches team win with victory at No. 5
The Marquette University women's tennis team (7-6) claimed a 4-3 non-conference win over Illinois State (7-5) Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles, who were wrapping up a three-match homestand, claimed the team's third-straight win.
Marquette opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at the top-two positions, but singles action would come down to the wire. MU's Lara Kaiser clinched the team win with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory at No. 5. Also victorious in singles on Saturday were Natalija Popovic at No. 1 and Elisabeth Desmarais at No. 4.
