Marquette hosts the Marquette Invitational this Sunday at Wisconsin Lutheran
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette men's and women's track and field teams will compete at home this weekend as they play host to the Marquette Invitational. The meet will be held at Wisconsin Lutheran's Raabe Stadium on Sunday, April 10. This will be the Golden Eagles' first, and only, home meet of the season.
Events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. with the throwing events. The running events will follow at 1 p.m. Live results will be recorded by accuracetiming.com.
Teams competing along side Marquette will include, Milwaukee, UW-Parkside, Bryant & Stratton, Cardinal Stritch and Harper College.

Last weekend the MU squad competed in a pair of meets. On Friday, the distance team traveled to Washington University in St. Louis to compete in the Distance Carnival. The rest of the team competed through the rain and wind Friday and Saturday at the Redbird Invite hosted by Illinois State

WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY DISTANCE CARNIVAL
- In the women's 5K, Laurel Moneysmith was the top MU finisher running a PR of 17:52.58. Marissa Valentini ran a personal-best as well finishing in 18:55.12.
- Kate Jochims placed in the top-10 in the steeplechase taking ninth overall with a time of 11:16.87.
- Patrick Hetlage ran a PR in the men's 5K with a time of 15:17.03 and was the top finisher for Marquette. In his first action since returning from injury, Thomas Leonard ran a 5K personal-best of 15:29.07.
- In the men's 10K, all six Golden Eagles that competed finished in a personal-best time. Junior Jordan Janusiak recorded a top-20 finish and ran a 1:07 PR with a time of 30:50.30. Dan Weizeorick (30:52.40), David Zeller (30:54.29), Augie Beyer (31:47.87), Patrick Burns (32:18.10), and Tyler Re (32:19.21) all finished in personal best times.
- 18 Golden Eagles achieved personal bests
- Freshman Grace Mager received runner-up honors in the javelin with a personal-best mark of 33.54 meters/116 feet, 7 inches, the No. 8 mark in school history. Mia Ketelhohn took third with a PR 34.53 meters/ 113 feet, 3 inches. Ketelhohn also achieved a PR in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.92 meters/124 feet, 1 inch.
- Harry Baker took second place in the high jump with a PR 2.03 meters/ 6 feet, 8 inches. Brady Heller took fourth in the event with a mark of 1.85 meters/ 6 feet, 0.75 inches.
- Vinnie Voudrie took second in the hammer throw Friday afternoon with a throw of 56.27 meters/184 feet, 7 inches.
- Lindsey Mirkes (high jump), Lizzy Cagle (discus), Allie Flando (hammer throw), Mitchell Van Vooren (400h), and Alex Lesperance (long jump) all earned the bronze in their respective events.
