German striker to join Golden Eagles for fall season
Brooklyn Merl | Forward/Midfield | Cologne, Germany | FC Düren
Prior to Marquette: Has spent several years playing in Germany, most recently playing for FC Düren ... Helped FC Düren finish atop the league standings in Germany's Mittelrheinliga in 2021-22, earning a 27-1-6 overall record ... Previously helped his squad to the U19 Mittelrhein Cup Championship, Mittelchen Championship and promotion to Regionalliga West.
Why he chose MU: "Marquette offers the opportunity to combine sport and my academic career. After my conversations with our coaches I was directly excited about the program."
Coach Bennett: "Brooklyn brings a wealth of quality experience, making his way through junior and adult soccer while scoring goals and making plays. He has huge ambition in athletic and academic, and he will add additional maturity to an already talented forward line. In our quest to add more goals and goal scoring opportunities to our team he caps off our tally of players designed to do that. Finally, he brings an unusual addition to the strike force, with an aerial threat at 6'2 plus."
