Golden Eagles back in action at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday vs. UConn
The Marquette University women's soccer team (6-4-1, 2-1-0 BIG EAST) opened a two-match homestand Thursday night at Valley Fields with a 2-0 loss against Creighton (5-2-4, 1-2-0 BIG EAST) in BIG EAST Conference action.
For the third-straight match, Marquette fell behind 1-0 in the first half, but for the first time during that span the team was unable to rally for the victory.
Chloe Olson had five saves on the night and midfielder Elizabeth Bueckers had two of the Golden Eagles' eight shots. Marquette's best scoring opportunity came late int the first half, but Kate Gibson's shot from 10 yards out hit the left post.
Marquette returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. CT when the team hosts UConn.
