Badawi, Bou claim singles wins
DES MOINES, Iowa - The Marquette University women's tennis team (0-2) closed its dual opening weekend with a 5-2 loss to Drake (2-1) Saturday morning at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs were able to open the match with a 1-0 advantage after claiming the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions and promptly collected enough singles decisions to clinch the team victory.

Junior Sarah Badawi and graduate transfer Julieanne Bou were the only Golden Eagles to claim singles wins. Badawi posted a 6-2, 6-4 dual competition win at No. 6 and Bou claimed her first singles dual match win as a Golden Eagle in similar fashion at No. 3, 6-3, 6-2.
