Golden Eagles continue fall competition
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's tennis teams continue their respective 2023 fall campaigns this weekend with action at two tournaments.
The women's team will be competing in the ITA Midwest Regional Championship hosted by Michigan State.
The tournament will be played in a single elimination format starting on Thursday, October 12. Marquette and Michigan state will be joined by numerous teams from across the region.
For the women's squad Lara Kaiser, Emilija Kojcic, and Tiana Windbuchler all have four wins on the fall season in singles action. In doubles action, senior Andie Weise has led the Golden Eagles in her pairings earning seven wins this fall.
The men's team will be traveling to the Zach Barden Memorial Invitational hosted by Toledo.
Marquette and Toledo will be joined by Duquesne and Northern Kentucky and will take place at the Shadow Valley Tennis Center.
Jan Jauch leads the men's team in singles wins this fall with five victories. In doubles matches, Jasper Schaadt has paced his pairings with multiple teammates with six victories during the fall campaign.
"Both teams have worked hard this fall and continue to show improvement," interim director of tennis Jud Shaufler said. "This weekend will be another good test to see how we are progressing."
