Box Score (PDF)Â | Highlights
SOUTH ORANGE, New Jersey – Aubrey Hamilton continued her torrid pace over the past month with 18 kills and three blocks as the Marquette University women's volleyball team downed Seton Hall in four sets, 25-16, 19-25, 25-14, 25-19, on Friday evening at Walsh Gymnasium.
The Golden Eagles (11-7, 7-0 BIG EAST) hit a combined .270 in that match and had to shake off a second set loss to take the match in four frames. Hamilton hit .425 in the victory with just one error on 40 swings. She also added an ace, while fellow outside hitter Jenna Reitsma had three and Ella Foti had a pair.
"I thought Seton Hall competed hard tonight and we had to battle," MU head coach Ryan Theis said. "They had a nice crowd that we allowed into the match in the second set. Aubrey had another impressive night - she is really putting the pieces together. I also thought Ella Holmstrom gave us a big spark off the bench."
Holmstrom saw action in all four sets for MU and finished with five kills on eight errorless swings to hit .625.
Madeline Matheny paced the Pirates (8-10, 2-5 BIG EAST) with 11 kills.
