The Golden Eagles return home for their final regular season matches next weekend

VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania – The Marquette University women's volleyball team hit .350 in a 19-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-16 win over Villanova on Saturday evening at Jake Nevin Field House.

Jenna Reitsma led the Golden Eagles (18-9, 14-2 BIG EAST) with a match-high 18 kills and 11 digs, while hitting .432 alongside three service aces. Middle hitter Carsen Murray hit .476 (12-2-21) and Aubrey Hamilton added 15 kills.

The Wildcats (16-12, 7-9 BIG EAST) claimed the opening set before MU picked up the pace to close out the match in four sets. Abby Harrell and Kiera Booth led Villanova with 14 kills apiece.

NOTABLE:

The Golden Eagles are currently tied atop the BIG EAST Conference standings at 14-2 with Creighton.
The Wildcats honored their senior class prior to the match. One of those individuals is Madeline Barber, the younger sister of former Marquette AVCA All-American Allie Barber.
Marquette holds a 24-4 edge in the all-time series, which began when MU entered the BIG EAST for the 2005 campaign.
MU has won each of the last 11 matches after a five-set loss at Jake Nevin on Oct. 14, 2017.
The Golden Eagles swept Villanova, 25-18, 25-15, 25-11, on Sept. 22 at the Al McGuire Center in their BIG EAST opener. MU combined to hit .440 in the sweep and was led by 13 kills from Hamilton. Hattie Bray notched a career-high 11 blocks, becoming the first MU player to reach the mark in a sweep in over two decades.

UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles return to the Al McGuire Center for their final weekend of the regular season, during which they will honor the 10th anniversary of the program's first BIG EAST Championship in 2013 as well as seniors Sarah Kushner and Anastasija Svetnik.
