Golden Eagles off to best start in program history, 7-0
MILWAUKEE – The No. 23/23 Marquette women's basketball team stays home to host Penn on Sunday. Tipoff from the Al McGuire Center is at 1 p.m. CT.
The Golden Eagles are off to the best start in program history (7-0) and have shot 50 percent or better from the field in five games. MU has had at least four score in double figures in six of seven games this season.
Liza Karlen is coming off a 21-point performance on Wednesday night against Memphis, her third 20-point game of the season. Rose Nkumu scored a career-high 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting and was perfect from deep for the fifth time this season.
All 11 players who checked in scored for Marquette, including Halle Vice, who had two points, one rebound and one assist in her collegiate debut.
This will be the first meeting between Marquette and Penn. MU is 4-0 all-time against Ivy League opponents.

• Penn (5-2, 0-0 IVY) is coming off a 79-71 win over crosstown foe La Salle on Wedneday.
• For the fourth time this season, four Quakers scored in double figures led by Stina Almqvist with 24 points.
• Almqvist leads the team averaging 19.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
• The Quakers were picked to finish fourth in the Ivy League preseason poll.
