MU hosts No. 16/18 Texas Wednesday night
The No. 3/3 Marquette University men's basketball team (6-2, 0-0 BIG EAST) continued non-conference play with a 75-64 loss at Wisconsin (6-2, 0-0 Big Ten) on Saturday afternoon in the Kohl Center.

Guard Kam Jones led the way with 19 points and guard Tyler Kolek chipped in 11 points and six assists.

Starting late in the first half, the Golden Eagles used a 15-2 run to close the gap to a one-point game with 12 minutes left after trailing by as many as 16 points in the first half. The Badgers responded, however, again leading by double digits in the closing minutes.

The Golden Eagles trailed 46-33 at the intermission after shooting just 37.0 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, including a 4-of-14 effort from behind the 3-point line. Jones had 12 first-half points, including a pair of treys late in the frame.
