Golden Eagles back in action Thursday
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Marquette University men's tennis team (3-10) earned a 7-0 victory over Rider (3-6) Wednesday afternoon, at USTA National campus.
Marquette quickly took the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, giving the Golden Eagles a 1-0 advantage going into singles play.
Stefan Dragovic, Tin Krstulovic and Gui Da Matta all took straight set wins for Marquette at No. 1, 2 and 6 positions.
Senior Rami Scheetz took a No. 3 tie-break victory, 6-3, 6-7, 10-4.
Freshman Thomas Nelson earned a singles win at No. 4, in a three set effort.
Freshman Blake Roegner earned his first collegiate win at the No. 5 spot, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles take on Fairfield University, Thursday, March 16.
