Men’s Tennis Takes 4-3 decision over Fairfield

Golden Eagles on a four-match win streak
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Marquette University men's tennis team (4-10) extends four-match win streak with 4-3 victory over Fairfield (3-7) Thursday afternoon, at USTA National campus.
"Our guys showed a lot of mental toughness to get this win," Head Coach Steve Rodecap said. "This was a gritty win and showed the strong character of our program."
Fairfield took the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, giving the Stags a 1-0 advantage going into singles play.
Senior Rami Scheetz and freshman Gui Da Matta took straight-set wins at No. 3 and No. 6.
Senior Stefan Dragovic earned a tie-breaker victory at the No. 1 position, 5-7, 6-2, and 6-2
Freshman Thomas Nelson took his second match deciding singles win at No. 4, late in the match in a three set effort.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles take on Niagara University, Friday, March 17.
