#MUBB Falls to Michigan State, 69-60 in Second Round of NCAA Tourney

Olivier-Maxence Prosper leads with 16 points
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Marquette University men's basketball team (29-7, 17-3 BIG EAST) fell to Michigan State (21-12, 11-8 Big Ten), 69-60, ending its NCAA tournament run.
MU started the first half with the first points of the game. Michigan State then went on a 9-0 run. The Golden Eagles were able to chip away at the deficit and went into halftime with the Spartans up by 5 points.
Olivier-Maxence Prosper led all scorers at halftime with nine points. Kam Jones scored eight points coupled with four rebounds. Tyler Kolek and Oso Ighodaro's first half minutes were limited due to foul trouble.
Prosper and Jones continued their first half theme, Prosper ended the game with 16 points and Jones with 14. Ighodaro chipped in 10 points, seven boards and four assists on the day.
Michigan State was led by Tyson Walker with 23 points, two points and two assists.
Notables:
- Kolek and Ighodaro were limited to 22 combined minutes in the first half with foul trouble
- Marquette was attempting to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since an Elite Eight run in 2013
- Prosper's 16 points put him in double figures for the seventh time in eight games
