MILWAUKEE — The Marquette University women's basketball team and head coach Megan Duffy announced the addition of Lee Volker, who joins the program as a transfer.Â
Â
Volker, a 5-foot-11 guard from Purcellville, Virginia, comes to Marquette after spending the past two seasons at Duke. For the Blue Devils, Volker appeared in 39 games over two seasons, including six starts and 12 appearances in 2022-23. The Blue Devils went a combined 43-20 in those seasons.Â
"We are excited to welcome Lee to our Marquette family," Duffy said. "I had the chance to watch her in high school at Paul VI in Virginia. She had a great start to her career at Duke with her toughness, IQ and ability to play multiple positions. She will be a great fit to our program and winning tradition."Â
Â
Prior to her time at Duke, Volker prepped at St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Chantilly, Virginia, where she was a three-time all-state selection. As a senior, she averaged 15.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.6 assists per contest while helping her team to an 11-1 record and a runner-up appearance at the Geico Nationals. She was named VISSA Division I Player of the Year as a junior, and helped her team to back-to-back state championships and a 66-13 overall record during three seasons as a starter.Â
Â
Volker is the third transfer added to the squad this summer, joining Lehigh transfer Frannie Hottinger and Central Michigan transfer Bridget Utberg.Â
