Marquette MSOC Announces 2023 Schedule

Golden Eagles to host 11 games this fall at Valley Fields
MILWAUKEE — The Marquette University men's soccer team announced its full 2023 schedule Monday morning, a slate highlighted by 11 matches at Valley Fields.
After three exhibition matches in mid-August, the campaign officially begins on Thursday, Aug. 24, when the Golden Eagles host Drake at 7:30 p.m. central time. MU plays each of its first six contests at home, and will not have to leave the city of Milwaukee in non-conference play. Marquette's lone non-conference away game is on Tuesday, Sept. 9, when it travels across town to take on Milwaukee at Engelmann Stadium.
Eleven home games match last year's slate as the most by a Marquette squad since the 1987 season.
Marquette opens BIG EAST play on Friday, Sept. 15, when it travels to Omaha, Nebraska, for its first road trip of the year to take on last season's national runners-up Creighton. The league home-opener for the Golden Eagles is Friday, Sept. 29 against St. John's, and the regular season will come to a close on Saturday. Oct. 28, when they host Georgetown.
On Saturday, Oct. 21, MU travels to Ohio to face Akron for the first time in BIG EAST play. The Zips joined the league in November 2022 as an affiliate member for men's soccer.Â
The Golden Eagles finished 5-9-4 overall and 1-5-4 in BIG EAST action in 2022. The squad returns 15 letterwinners and nine starters from last year's team. Among those returning are all-league performers Edrey Caceres and Beto Soto.
