MILWAUKEE - The Marquette men's and women's tennis teams continued their respective fall campaigns this past weekend at a pair of events.
The men's team traveled to the Toledo Everybody vs Cancer Invite and competed in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic along with the women's team.
"We saw a lot of great things from both of our teams this weekend," interim director of tennis Jud Shaufler said. "Our biggest focus right now is to grow and keep getting better through the fall."
Marquette sent five men's players to Toledo and two players to the MTC, while four women's players competed at the MTC.
In singles play at Toledo for the men's program, Jan Jauch notched two singles and doubles wins on the weekend. Newcomer Jasper Schaadt tallied four doubles wins at the event paired with Jauch and Ivan Vazquez.
At the MTC, Tin Krstulovic and Blake Roegner fell short in opening doubles action. Krstulovic and Roegner suffered opening losses in the round of 32 in singles to Denver and Western Michigan.
On the women's side, duos Emilija Kojcic/Andie Weise and Sarah Badawi/Emma Davis dropped their opening doubles match vs. Notre Dame and Brown University.
Kojcic and Weise represented the Golden Eagles in singles action at the MTC but were unable to advance to the round of 16.
UP NEXT: Marquette tennis returns to action on Sept. 29 - Oct. 1 when the men's team travels to Ball State and the women's team travels to Western Michigan for respective events.
