MILWAUKEE - The Communications staff in Marquette University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is looking for student assistants for the 2023-24 academic year.
Individuals can apply through JobX, Marquette's student employment portal or email for more information. Must be students currently enrolled at Marquette for internship credit or Federal Work Study.
ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS STUDENT ASSISTANTS
Communication Assistants – Assist communications staff (sports information directors) in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to updating GoMarquette.com, writing press releases and website features, statistical management, event coverage and social media. Assistants will attend scheduled weekly office hours in addition to Marquette Athletics event coverage on nights and weekends. Strong writing background preferred with knowledge of AP Style and familiarity with the sports Marquette sponsors (soccer, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, golf, tennis, track & field/cross country). Attention to detail and the ability to type accurately. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms preferred.
Digital Content Assistants – Assist with content capturing at events and aid the Director of Creative Content and Social Media in shooting, archiving, editing and producing finished pieces for digital and social platforms. Marquette Athletics event coverage on nights and weekends. Knowledge and experience with video and photo equipment and editing software (Adobe Creative Suite) required.
Graphic Design Assistants – Assist communications, marketing and ticketing staffs in graphic production for Marquette Athletics and individual team social and digital platforms. Office time spent mostly during business hours. Knowledge and experience in design software (Adobe Creative Suite) required.
