
Darius Barksdale Named Director of Video & Player Development

Barksdale most recently worked with men's program at Texas
Darius Barksdale has joined the Marquette University women's basketball team as Director of Video and Player Development, head coach Megan Duffy announced Tuesday morning.

With Marquette, Barksdale will coordinate all aspects of the program's video needs, including opponent scouting and player development content.

"We are excited to welcome Darius to Marquette nation," Duffy said. "He brings energy to our program and will help aid in our player development, both on and off the court.
"Darius brings tremendous knowledge from his time at Texas and the Kentucky Basketball Commission," Duffy added. He will enhance the experience of our players as he leads our video department and helps with game planning and on-court work."
Barksdale most recently spent two seasons (2021-23) with the men's basketball program at Texas, assisting with on-campus recruiting, scouting, player development, recruiting and administrating the team's summer camps. The Longhorns claimed the 2022-23 Big 12 tournament title and advanced to the Elite Eight.

A three-year men's basketball letterwinner (2017-20) at Urbana University, Barksdale earned his bachelor's in sports management from the school in 2020. The Lexington, Kentucky, native appeared in 58 career games for the Blue Knights. He also played one season (2016-17) at Oakland University.Â

He completed his master's in communication, with an emphasis in sports communication, in 2023 and graduated cum laude.
