MILWAUKEE – Aubrey Hamilton posted a career-high 28 kills and the Marquette University women's volleyball team rallied from a two-set deficit to outlast DePaul in five sets on Friday evening at the Al McGuire Center.
The Golden Eagles (10-6, 6-1 BIG EAST) fell behind after dropping the opening two frames, 25-20, 25-20, before claiming the final three sets, 25-16, 25-23, 16-14.
Hamilton's theatrics powered MU with a combined 17 kills in the third and fourth frames before redshirt junior middle blocker Hattie Bray took over in the final stanza with four kills on six errorless swings. Bray added a team-high five blocks, five digs and a service ace, while Hamilton posted 13 digs for her fourth double double of the season.
The win leaves Marquette in sole possession of second place in the BIG EAST Conference standings at 6-1.
League kill leader Jill Pressly led DePaul (13-6, 5-2 BIG EAST) with 25 kills and Audrey Kemp and Aly Kindelberger each chipped in 11. Pressly also added four service aces in the loss.Â

NOTABLE:
- Late in the second set, Hamilton became the 14th player in program history to reach 1,000 digs in a Marquette uniform. She currently has 1,020 at Marquette and 1,531 in 81 career matches including her time at MU and Notre Dame.
- MU rebounded from a rough first two sets to hit .371 (15-2-35) in the third.
- Friday's game begins a stretch of six matches in 10 days for MU.
- Marquette holds a 44-29 record against the Blue Demons in a series that began in 1982, and has won the last 27matches dating back to the 2009 campaign. MU's last loss to DePaul was in 2008 and its last home loss was on Sept. 22, 2001.
- Since both teams joined the BIG EAST Conference for the 2005 campaign, MU has won 30 of 31 matches.
- Hamilton hit .278 on Friday night after earning a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this week for her play in last weekend's wins at St. John's and Villanova. Hamilton hit a combined .377 with 4.57 kills per set in those two contests.
- MU setter Yadhira Anchante has a team-best 13 double doubles this season after notching a season-best 53 assists and a team-high 17 digs on Friday.Â
- DePaul libero Rachel Krasowski posted a match-best 27 digs. She entered the match leading the BIG EAST with a 4.70 digs per set average on the season and a 5.00 mark in league action.
