Golden Eagles close regular season vs Creighton November 2nd at Valley Fields
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's soccer team's (6-6-4, 2-3-2 BIG EAST) fell 3-0 against No. 24 Akron (10-3-3, 7-0 BIG EAST) at Valley Fields Saturday evening.

In the first half, the Golden Eagles fell behind in the 13th minute 1-0 against the Zips after an Akron found home off of a cross.

Marquette closed the half with one shot on goal from Antonio Costabile, to Akron's six shots, three of which were goal shots.
Â
Akron stayed aggressive in the second half, which led to another goal in the 62nd minute, gaining a 2-0 advantage.

Marquette turned its offensive pressure up with more shots in the second half (5), but could not find the back of the net.

Akron scored their third goal in the 76th minute, closing out the game with a 3-0 victory against the Golden Eagles.

"We always say our next game is the most important, and with this one (Creighton) being our last home regular season match we will prepare and be ready to to try earn our highest seed in BIG EAST postseason as possible," head coach David Korn said. "We fell short tonight, but we are excited to have the opportunity to play in a meaningful game at home to close the regular season."
