WBB Dominates DePaul, 78-59, as Consuegra Gets First BIG EAST Win Sunday

CHICAGO – The Marquette University women's basketball team defeated DePaul 78-59 in its first BIG EAST game on Sunday at Wintrust Arena.
The Golden Eagles (9-3, 1-0 BIG EAST) were led by Skylar Forbes, who had 18 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Halle Vice had her second double-double of the season with 17 points. a career-high tying 11 rebounds and a career-high five assists.
Lee Volker added 17 points, five assists and three rebounds. Jaidynn Mason had 16 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Marquette stormed out to an 18-8 lead after the first ten minutes, holding DePaul to just 13 percent shooting from the floor. MU led by double-digits the last 24 minutes and five seconds of game action.
The Golden Eagles shot 50.8 percent, the second game in a row shooting 50-percent-or-better from the floor. MU outrebounded DePaul 42-37 and have outrebounded each opponent in the nine wins this season.
DePaul (6-9, 1-1 BIG EAST) was led by Jorie Allen, who had 24 points and two rebounds.
