Golden Eagles set four top-10 marks in first indoor meet
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University track and field competed at the Blue & Gold Invite on Friday in the first meet of the 2024-25 indoor season.
"It was a very solid December opener," said Bert Rogers. "I thought we brought intensity and really competed well."
Daylee Braden set a new program record in the 1000m, finishing 1st at 2:49.90 seconds. It was her first ever 1000m run in her indoor career.
Danny Olsen finished third and set a PR in the 300m at 34.57 seconds, good for the third-fastest time in program history.
"Daylee ran really well in the 1000m, she has been training really well and her hard work is paying off," said Rogers. "Danny had a bit of a stumble mid-race otherwise he may have broken the 300m record, but it was still a great effort today."
Julia Beck set a PR in the 60h at 8.89 seconds, good for the sixth-fastest time in program history. Aaron Hughes ran the 60m in 6.85 seconds to tie his program No. 3 all-time mark.
Nathan Hirsch finished first in the 800m at 2 minutes 18 seconds. John Pitta won the triple jump at 13.79m.
Megan White set a PR in the indoor weight throw at 15.22m in his first attempt of the day.
Natalia Jackowski finished third in the women's high jump at 1.70m.
