
Track and Field Competes at Panther Tune-Up

Hopp and Beck record PRs and set new top-10 marks in triple jump and 60m hurdles
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University track and field competed at the Panther Tune-Up on Saturday hosted by Milwaukee.
"It was just what we wanted today," said Bert Rogers. "Today was a prep meet for BIG EAST next weekend. Overall, a pretty successful day with a few freshmen getting their last race in of the season combined with athletes setting PRs and having top 10 performances."
Julia Beck set a new PR in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.96 seconds, good for ninth fastest all-time at MU. The Pewaukee, Wisconsin native now owns the ninth and 10th fastest 60m hurdle times in program history.
Kaylee Hopp claimed second in the triple jump with a new PR of 12.25m/40ft 2.25in, good for second-all time. Hopp now owns the second and third best mark in the record books in the triple jump. It was the second event in a row she set a new PR in the triple jump.
Milwaukee native Lexi Keppler finished first in the mile with a time of 5:08.40. Freshman Ava Thomas finished second with a PR of 5:17.57. Audrey Grimm finished fourth at 5:23.20.
Junior Nathan Hirsch of Brookfield, Wisconsin finished fifth in the mile (4:27.36) in his third event of the season.
Gretchen Pfeiffer set a new PR in the 800m at 2:22.63 to finish third.
