Golden Eagles to honor seniors Saturday
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team fell 4-3 to BIG EAST foe Creighton Friday evening at Elite Sports Club - North Shore.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by claiming the doubles point with a pair of wins at the No. 2 and 3 spots.
The Bluejays opened singles play with two singles victories to take the team score lead of 2-1.
Tiana Windbuchler earned the first singles win for Marquette at the No. 5 spot in straight-set fashion (6-4, 7-5) to tie the team score 2-2.
Senior Andie Weise took a straight-set singles victory at No. 4 (6-3, 7-6) to give the Golden Eagles a 3-2 advantage.
Creighton went on to win the No. 1 and No. 6 matches to take the team decision.
UP NEXT: Marquette will honor seniors and host Georgetown, March 23 at 10:00 am CT at Elite Sports Club – North Shore.
