Senior Reflections: Luke Williams

Luke Williams leaves Marquette after being one of the best faceoff men in program history. He has played in 51 games while scoring 7 goals and providing 6 assists. He finishes a decorated career with a .541 faceoff percentage. He was a second-team All BIG-EAST selection in 2022. He is also 3rd in all-time groundballs at MU, with 213.Â
1. What is your proudest moment as a Marquette lacrosse player?
Williams: Being named a Captain by my teammates.
2. What is your most memorable experience with the team?
Williams: Beating Michigan in '23.
3. What's the best advice you could offer future Marquette lacrosse players?
Williams: Enjoy the journey and never take yourself too seriously. Remember why you play the game and always empty the tank in all that you do.
4. Most memorable game? Why?
Williams: Providence game my junior year. Played after the death of a loved one and the amount of support the guys gave me I will never forget.
5. What has motivated you?Â
Williams: To leave the program better than I found it.
6.  How do you think you've changed as a player or person over your career at Marquette?
Williams: I have matured as a person and am capable of not only leading myself through challenging moments/times but others as well.
7. What is your favorite thing about the city of Milwaukee? Why?
Williams: Downtown, there's so many places to try and things to do with the guys.
8. What have you learned that you will take with you as you move on from MU?
Williams: Just because you work hard doesn't mean success is guaranteed. Showing up and putting in the time even when you don't know when the payoff is coming.
9. Who is a teammate that has inspired you? Why?
Williams: Jake Stegman. He has shown more growth out of anyone I have seen since being at Marquette. His work ethic, drive, and fiery passion inspire me. He is a guy I can always count on to be there for me no matter the situation.
