Kaylee Hopp Named BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Junior had fifth-longest triple jump in program history in Madison

NEW YORK – Marquette University track and field junior Kaylee Hopp has been named BIG EAST Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.

Hopp finished second in the triple jump at the Badger Challenge last weekend with a mark of 12.03m/39ft 5.75in. Her jump was No. 5 all-time in program history.

Hopp also finished seventh in the long jump at 5.30m/17ft 4.75in.

This marks the second time this season Hopp has earned a conference weekly honor for her performance in a triple jump. She recorded the second-longest indoor triple jump in program history at the Panther Tune Up in February.

Hopp and the Golden Eagles compete in the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships this Thursday, May 9 through Saturday, May 11 in Philadelphia.
