XC season begins this Friday at Vic Godfrey Open in Kenosha
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University Associate Head Cross Country Coach Jack Hackett has named David Zeller and Gretchen Pfeiffer as 2024 team captains.
"I'm very thankful to David and Gretchen for their leadership, especially this off-season when the team was between coaches," Hackett said. "They stepped up and helped bring this team together. Both exemplify the hard work and determination we want to see out of our team, and they truly are good leaders. They've helped me navigate the group and make it a good transition into the season."
Zeller ran in all six meets last season for the Golden Eagles, pacing the team in two races. The graduate student from Warrenville Illinois has run in 18 events for the Golden Eagles, including a 45th place finish at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships last fall.
Pfeiffer has competed in 12 events in her career while also running in track events. The graduate student from Colleyville, Texas ran in one event last season at the Platte River Rumble in Omaha, Nebraska.
The 2024 Marquette cross country season begins this Friday, Sept. 6 at the Vic Godfrey Open in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
