
MTEN Rallies For 5-2 Victory Over IU Indy Friday Afternoon

St. Laurent picks up his first career clinch
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's tennis team earned its first win of the season with a 5-2 win over IU Indy Friday afternoon.
The Jaguars started the match by winning doubles at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, giving them a 1-0 team advantage.
IU Indy took its first singles victory at No. 3 in straight sets, extending their lead to 2-0.
Blake Roegner reentered the win column with a straight-set win at No. 1 (7-5, 6-4).
Freshman TJ Ryerson tied the team score at 2-2 with a straight-set victory at No. 4 (7-6, 6-0).
Cyrus Ahmad gave the Golden Eagles a 3-2 advantage with a comeback three-set victory at No. 2 (5-7, 6-4, 6-2).
Freshman Remi St. Laurent secured his first career clinch for the Golden Eagles at No. 5 in two sets. St. Laurent took the first set easily but fell behind early in the second. After rallying back to 6-6, the Montreal, Canada native battled to take the tiebreak 7-5.
Hugh Perrill took one more point for the Golden Eagles with a straight set victory at No. 6 (7-5, 6-3).
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will travel to NIU on Sunday at 10 a.m to close out weekend play.
