Golden Eagles split weekend dual action
DeKalb, Illinois - The Marquette University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to NIU Sunday afternoon.
NIU started the match by winning doubles at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, giving them a 1-0 team advantage.
The Huskies took the team decision with three singles wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4.
Kristian Blagoev scored the first team point for MU with a comeback three-set victory at No. 3 (1-6, 7-6, 6-4).
Freshmen Evan Glebov picked up his first career win at No. 6 in straight-set fashion (7-5, 6-2).
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will host University of North Dakota on Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. and Dayton on Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at Sprovieri Tennis Complex.
