Junior pole vaulter had ninth-best mark in program history over the weekend

NEW YORK – Marquette University track & field junior pole vaulter Sophie Herriott was named BIG EAST Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Herriot had the ninth-best mark in program history at the Panther Tune-Up, clearing 3.65m.

The Wisconsin transfer has competed in pole vault in five meets this indoor season and will compete at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships this coming weekend in Chicago.

This mark's Herriot's first BIG EAST honor of her career.
