Golden Eagles conclude regular season play next weekend
OMAHA, Nebraska – The Marquette University women's tennis team closed out weekend action in Omaha, Nebraska, against Creighton and Nebraska Omaha.
Creighton Matchup
The Golden Eagles opened the match by securing the crucial doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, taking a 1-0 lead.
Creighton went on to win five straight singles matches to clinch the team victory.
Marquette's lone singles point came at the No. 2 position, where Andie Weise earned a three-set victory (4-6, 6-2, 10-5).
Nebraska Omaha
Omaha started the match by scoring the first point, winning the doubles with victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
Omaha added four more points in singles play to secure the team victory.
Aiyana Abbott scored MU's first point of the match at No. 4 with a three-set win (2-6, 6-2, 6-1).
Andie Weise also earned a singles victory at No. 1 with a comeback three-set win (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will conclude the regular season next weekend when the team travels to Xavier and Butler.
