MILWAUKEE -Â The Marquette University women's tennis team fell 5-2 to NIU at the Sprovieri Tennis Complex on Wednesday evening.

The Huskies opened the match by securing the crucial doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, taking a 1-0 lead.

NIU took three straight singles points at No. 1, No. 4, and No. 2 to claim the team victory 4-0.

The Huskies extended their lead with a three-set victory at No. 3.
Joelle Fiallo Schad claimed a Marquette singles point at the No. 5 position in three-sets (6-4, 2-6, 10-7).Â
Luciana Mendoza earned a comeback victory in three sets at No. 6 to give MU its second point of the match (2-6, 7-6, 10-8).Â
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will travel to Chicago to take on BIG EAST foe DePaul at 12:30 p.m..
