Forbes and Vice combine for 40 points
The fourth-seeded Marquette University women's basketball team fell to fifth-seed Villanova, 73-66, in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament at Mohegan Sun on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles (20-10, 12-6 BIG EAST) were led by Skylar Forbes, who had 23 points and nine boards. Halle Vice added 17 points and nine rebounds.
The largest lead for either team in the first half was three points and the game had 10 lead changes and nine ties.
Villanova had the largest lead of the game at 10 points, 65-55, with 2:11 remaining before Marquette went on a 5-0 run to cut the deficit. Free throws down the stretch sealed the game for the Wildcats.
