Roegner earns back-to-back BIG EAST honors
NEW YORK - Marquette University men's tennis standout Blake Roegner has been named All-BIG EAST Second Team for the second time in his career, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.
Roegner led the Golden Eagles with a total of 10 wins, he played all but two of his matches at the No. 1 spot. He also led Marquette in doubles victories alongside his primary partner Cyrus Ahmad. The Naperville native recorded six wins at the No. 1 and 2 spots for the Blue and Gold.
"Blake is once again very deserving of the award. After an uneven start to the season he really kicked it into gear with his practice habits and it really paid off," director of tennis Jud Shaufler said. "He finished the season very strong with his two road wins at Butler and Xavier. He has established himself over the past two years as a very respected No. 1 player."
