T&F Kicks Off 2026 at NYC Gotham Cup, John Tierney Invite

The Marquette University track and field team is set to open the second half of their indoor season this Friday and Sunday, Jan. 16 and 18, at the NYC Gotham Cup and John Tierney Invitational.

2025-26 INDOOR SEASON NOTES

MU has broken one school record so far in the 2025-26 indoor season:
- Danny Olsen- new school record in 300m (33.67) set at the Blue & Gold Invitational on Dec. 5, 2025.
In the season opener on Dec. 5, MU competed at the Blue & Gold Invitational. New additions to the MU all-time indoor lists included:
- Danny Olsen – No. 1 in 300m (33.67).
- Marley Stoller – No. 5 in 300m (40.60).
- Frankie McGee – No. 5 in 300m (35.03).
- Drew Klopcic – No. 6 in 500m (1:04.62).
MU returns 33 letterwinners on the men's side and 31 on the women's side.
The Golden Eagles welcome 14 newcomers on both the men's and women's rosters.

NYC GOTHAM CUP MEET PREVIEW

MU will send a select group of student-athletes to Staten Island, competing in the NYC Gotham Cup for the first time.
Both track and field events begin at 11 a.m. CT at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Athletic Complex. MU will run sprint events only at the meet.

JOHN TIERNEY INVITATIONAL MEET PREVIEW

MU will compete in Milwaukee for the first time this season just down the road at the Klotsche Center on the campus of UW-Milwaukee.
The Golden Eagles will partake in the John Tierney Invitational for the eighth time.
Field events begin at 10 a.m. CT, while running events kick off at 2:30 p.m.
Both the men's and women's teams will compete against Milwaukee and the UW Track Club at the event.
