MU back in action on Saturday afternoon
GRAND FORKS, ND -Ā The Marquette University men's tennis team dropped 7-0 to University of North Dakota in the first match of the dual season.
The Fighting Hawks started the match by winning the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, giving them a 1-0 advantage.
UND then picked up five straight-set singles victories at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 positions. Blake Roegner was the only Golden Eagle to record a set win as he forced a tiebreak against Leo Galliano as he took the second set 6-4. However, it was Galliano that took the tiebreak 10-6.
UP NEXT
MU will be back in action Saturday, January 17 to close its opening weekend. The match will be played at the University of North Dakota.Ā
This will be the first time in program history that the two teams meet.
First serve versus MSU is set for 3:30 p.m. CT.
